So you want in on the GTA 6 Beta? Here's exactly how it works. The testing program is available exclusively on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S -- no PC version exists. Registration is free, takes about five minutes, and everything starts at Rockstar-Beta.com. You won't need to pay a dime at any step. If someone's asking for money, it's a scam.
The Full Sign-Up Flow
Here's the deal -- the process has a few moving parts, but none of them are complicated. You'll sign up, wait for an invitation, then use a dedicated app to finish things up and grab your console redeem code.
- Register on Rockstar-Beta.com. Head to the official site and create your application. You'll link your Rockstar Social Club account during this step.
- Wait for your invitation email. If you're selected, Rockstar sends an email containing a unique key. This isn't instant -- it can take anywhere from a day to several days depending on the current wave.
- Download the Rockstar Beta Center app. The invitation email includes a link to download this app on your console. It's the hub for everything beta-related.
- Finish registration with your unique key. Open the Beta Center app and enter the unique key from your invitation email. This locks the beta access to your account.
- Claim your redeem code. Once registration is complete inside the app, you'll get one redeem code -- either for PlayStation or Xbox. One code per user, no exceptions.
- Redeem on your console. Take that code to the PlayStation Store or Xbox Store, punch it in, and the beta starts downloading. That's it.
What You'll Need Before Starting
- Rockstar Social Club account
- This is mandatory. The beta ties directly to your Social Club profile, so make sure yours is set up and verified beforehand.
- A PS5 or Xbox Series X|S
- These are the only supported platforms. No PS4, no Xbox One, no PC.
- Valid email address
- Your invitation and unique key arrive by email. Double-check your spam folder if you've been waiting a while.
- Enough storage space
- You'll want roughly 140 GB free on your console's internal SSD. External drives won't cut it for this one.
- Stable internet
- At least 25 Mbps is recommended, especially if you're planning to jump into multiplayer sessions.
After You're In
Once the beta's downloaded, the Rockstar Beta Center app becomes your home base. It tracks build versions, handles automatic updates, and gives you access to the bug reporting system. If anything goes sideways during installation, the troubleshooting guide covers the most common console issues people run into.
Worth noting -- the testing phase runs through June 30, 2026, ahead of the full worldwide launch on November 19, 2026. Spots are limited, so signing up sooner rather than later improves your chances of getting an invitation.
