Leonida is massive. Rockstar's fictional take on Florida stretches from neon-lit beachfronts to deep-country swampland, and the beta lets you roam every inch of it. Seven distinct areas are open for exploration, each with its own architecture, ambient life, and gameplay opportunities. There are no loading screens between regions -- the RAGE engine streams everything seamlessly off the console's SSD, so you can drive from a penthouse on Starfish Island straight into the Grassrivers wetlands without a single interruption.
Ocean Drive
This is the postcard. The neon-soaked commercial strip defines Vice City's skyline, and it's buzzing at all hours. Restaurants, nightclubs, luxury hotels -- the street scene shifts dynamically between day and night. It connects to Vice Beach heading south and Little Haiti to the west.
Starfish Island
The wealthiest enclave in Leonida, tucked behind a guarded bridge. Waterfront mansions, private docks, immaculate gardens. It plays a meaningful role in the beta's exclusive prologue chapter, and several mission-critical locations are scattered across the island. Worth spending time here.
Grassrivers Wetlands
Ever wanted to navigate an Everglades-style swamp in a Rockstar game? This is it. It's the single largest biome available in the test build -- airboat routes, wildlife encounters, hidden settlements, and a weather system that throws tropical storms at you without warning. The wetlands connect to rural farmlands out west and Port Gellhorn to the east.
The Rest of Leonida
Little Haiti is dense and vibrant, packed with street markets and cultural landmarks. Vice Beach is your coastal resort playground -- water sports, sunbathers, the whole vibe. Port Gellhorn handles the gritty side of things with industrial shipping yards and warehouse-based missions. And the rural farmlands? Open countryside with long stretches of road that are perfect for testing the vehicle roster.
